Some start-ups choose to develop their products and services in stealth mode in order to avoid competitor attention and build hype leading up to the launch. Many believe this to be the best tactic, although I’m not yet convinced.

Most people recognize Wordpress as a world class blogging platform. What most people don’t realize is that Wordpress can be used to quickly and easily set up a website. In other words, the blogging platform doubles as a simple website CMS.

In February, a spat between Michael Arrington of TechCrunch and Glenn Kelman of Redfin re-ignited the age-old debate of whether it is better to launch a start-up in Silicon Valley or whether physical location matters in the Internet age.

Web 2.0 is sexy. Making money on the Internet isn’t. The majority of web 2.0 initiatives fail to turn a profit. Their existence is dependent upon funding or passion. The true money-makers of the Internet are businesses that people don’t talk about.

Every web company will update its website from time to time. These iterations range in scale and scope, and often only require small tweaks. Other times, an entire revamp is in store. Evolution is necessary but not at the expense of the experience.
